Individual Assignment: Negotiation Strategy Article Analysis

Purpose of Assignment

Students will examine the two fundamental strategies available for negotiations so they can compare and contrast the two in an effort to form the basis of matching the proper negotiation strategy to specific situation. Students also examine the critical role of planning in negotiations. Finally, students cement their understanding by illustrating how these strategies can be used in work environments.

Two articles are used as examples to describe a business negotiation situation related to differing industry sectors within Fortune 500 companies that employ different negotiation strategies.  
Negotiation strategies used in the articles are described.
Planning’s impact on the negotiation process in both situations is assessed.
A comparison of the two selected strategies and how they might apply to your work setting is included.
The paper is 1,400 to 1,750 words in length.
